Customer Review: A Versatile Pot

It's smaller, lower size makes it easy to handle and use for a wide variety of cooking. It is very easy to clean. I live alone so I like products that are sized for 1-4 portions, and this fills the bill. I've used it for braising, slow cooking, and making soup and even a macaroni casserole, and although it's lighter and less substantial than the enameled cast iron ovens, the results (the braising doesn't brown the meat as much) seem identical as far as taste is concerned.

The heavy gauge, hard-anodized aluminum provides even heating - no hot spots! The patented TOTAL Hi-Low Food Release system protects the nonstick surface from abrasion, allows food to slide out easily, and, along with the nonstick exterior, makes clean up a breeze. ...Coated inside and out with rugged nonstick, Circulon 2 cookware eliminates the chore of scrubbing pots and pans. Inside their bottoms, Circulon's patented Hi-Low system of concentric grooves creates narrow ridges to take utensil abuse, leaving low, wide grooves unscathed to readily release food and ensuring long life for the nonstick coating. Beneath the nonstick is harder-than-steel anodized aluminum. Pot and pan bottoms are left uncoated to conduct heat quickly and prevent hot spots. Slip-resistant synthetic grips on riveted, polished, stainless-steel handles stay cool on the stovetop and go safely in an oven up to 350 degrees F. Heavyweight, 18/10 stainless-steel lids polished to a mirror finish present a gleaming contrast to the attractive, charcoal gray, enamel-like appearance of Circulon 2's nonstick exterior.
This 4-1/2-quart Dutch oven is perfect for slow-cooking a pot roast, beans and sausage, or stew under its lid in the oven or for simmering soup on the stovetop. The Hi-Low concentric grooves climb an inch or so up the pot's rounded sides, permitting thorough stirring and scraping without damaging the nonstick coating.
